Gillian trained as a dancer at the Arts Educational School and at the London School of Contemporary Dance.

Then she began creating her own solo dance pieces, danced with the Jasper Ballet Company and helped form the Barbican Community Dance Theatre.

She founded the Helicon Dance Company in Plymouth where she both choreographed and danced in a number of shows which successfully went on to tour the country. She was very much involved with improvised music/dance performance; with composers Lucy Lucy and Janet Beat, as part of 'Women in Music'. In 1990, as a member of the Minimi Dance/Theatre Company she danced in an international tour of Samual Beckett’s ‘Rockabye’ to critical acclaim.

In 1993 Gillian brought her talents to the inspiring surroundings of West Cork, Ireland. There she started singing and composing music and subsequently toured two solo performances of music, song and dance; 'Moon Hawk' and 'Arcana'. She made her film debut in 2004 'In the Nature of She’- a film exploring feminine nature.
